Following the Brisbane Valley Highway, Glenn Rocks Motel is situated opposite the Esk Information Centre, on Ipswich Road. We are just over an hours drive from Brisbane, and provide the perfect place to enjoy the rural community and history of the Brisbane Valley. Esk is the capital of the Esk Shire.

The Esk Shire contains townships of rustic country charm, genuine hospitality, magnificent dams and panoramic views, and relaxing scenic drives! In recent years the shire has benefitted from strong growth as residents seek the benefits of a rural lifestyle in a beautiful location close to the major cities of Brisbane and Ipswich.

What to do?

• Fish, sail, or simply relax on Wivenhoe, Somerset or Atkinson Dams (water ski enthusiasts can also have a go on Somerset or Atkinson)
• Discover our heritage by visiting one of the old homesteads at Coominya, Esk or Caboonbah
• Drive the Heritage Trail from Fernvale to Linville
• Stroll through the streets of the little towns and check out the antique shops and local crafts
• Visit the local farms - including deer, ostrichs, cattle & horse, and fish!
• Go horseriding, c atch and release a fish, camel riding, or trail walking
• Skydive, go horse riding and maybe kiss a camel
• Rowing regattas, rodeos and the famous Esk Picnic Races all occur in the Esk Shire

How to get there?

Esk can be approached from south west or north west of Brisbane.

From the South West of Brisbane head West along Ipswich Road and the Warrego Highway, then take the Brisbane Valley Highway turnoff;
or
From the North West travel North along the Bruce Highway (Highway 1) and turn off for the D'Aguilar Highway (Highway 17)
